Megan Macadam

Registered Psychologist

Megan is a dedicated psychologist who values working collaboratively with people, works from a strengths-based perspective and knows the importance of people feeling safe in the therapeutic relationship. She provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults and is passionate in supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. She is interested in working with a variety of difficulties, including trauma, mood and anxiety, phobias, relationship challenges, and youth mental health.

Megan draws on a range of different treatment modalities, having trained in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, and eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and customises each person’s treatment plan to best suit their unique needs.

She received her Masters in Psychology (Forensic) from the University of New South Wales, is a board approved supervisor, and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Psychology (Post-Registration). Megan has worked both in Australia and the UK and has worked in a range of settings, including inpatient mental health and forensic settings.

Outside of being a psychologist, Megan loves a good podcast, is trying to learn the piano, and has what can only be described as a too large plant collection.

Megan consults from our Fitzroy North clinic and is available Thursdays, Fridays, and alternate Saturdays.

Megan is interested in working with a variety of difficulties, including trauma, mood and anxiety, phobias, relationship challenges, and youth mental health.
