Meet our psychologists

Samantha Duroska

Clinical Psychologist

Samantha provides individual therapy to adults to assist with various mental health experiences such as depression, anxiety and trauma. She is passionate about supporting people to overcome any barriers that hold them back on their journey to live a more meaningful life.

With an extensive working history in Germany, she has shaped herself into a down-to-earth and compassionate psychologist with a passion for individualised treatment planning. A profound understanding of the clients’ circumstances and their background is considered a crucial element of therapy and Samantha places this at the centre of her work. Transparency is key and so she discusses therapeutic goals with her clients, reflects on the treatment progress and is open to feedback. She likes to work collaboratively and sees the client as the expert of their own life.

Seeking therapy and feeling vulnerable is challenging. Samantha wants every client to feel understood and respected. She creates a climate of unconditional positive regard, so that potentially uncomfortable subjects can be talked through. Within a strong therapeutic alliance, healing and personal growth is possible

The idea that our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all connected (e.g., the way we think influences the way we feel) and that these patterns can be changed (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), are two of the key therapeutic approaches that Samantha utilises. In addition to CBT, Samantha uses Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT), self-compassion and other approaches.

Samantha provides therapy in both English and German and consults from our Fitzroy North clinic.

Samantha wants every client to feel understood and respected, creating a climate of unconditional positive regard.
