Justin believes strongly in the power of the therapeutic relationship to bring about real change in people’s lives. Justin will approach your issues with the values of warmth, respect, and empathy. A collaborative therapy style that fits with you is paramount, and evidence-based interventions can be provided in a more or less structured way depending on what you feel works best. Justin’s practice is client centred, trauma-informed, and strengths based. He is sex positive, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and affirming of all relationship structures.
Justin draws on several evidence-based therapies: schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing and CBT for insomnia.
He has worked successfully with clients across the lifespan on issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD and trauma related issues, ADHD support (not diagnostic assessment), life transitions, intimacy and relationship issues, sleep problems, and academic/career related issues.
