Katie Skinner
Registered psychologist
Katie is a warm natured psychologist who works from a client centred approach. She focuses on creating a collaborative environment with her clients that is free of judgement and rather an open space to explore issues with compassion. Katie also knows the importance of the therapeutic bond and utilises this to promote healing and change.
Katie has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has worked in private and public health settings including working with individuals experiencing complex illness and chronic pain. Katie provides psychological services to clients aged 16 years and older. She supports people with a wide range of issues including anxiety disorders, depression, chronic pain, grief, and low self-esteem.
Katie draws on evidence-based therapies to tailor individual treatments for each client based on their needs and goals. Treatment modalities Katie utilises include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Schema Therapy.
