I work with adults and adolescents, supporting people through a wide range of concerns including anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief and loss, stress and burnout, life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship difficulties. I enjoy working with adults navigating both acute challenges and longer-standing patterns that are impacting their wellbeing or sense of self.
I am passionate about providing a therapy space that is affirming, respectful, and responsive. I welcome both neurodivergent and neurotypical clients, and tailor therapy to each person’s strengths, needs, and goals.
I have a particular interest and experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, including supporting individuals exploring gender diversity and gender transition, as well as working with families of trans and gender diverse children and adolescents.
In my clinical work, I draw on a range of approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), attachment-based and somatic therapies, and mindfulness-informed frameworks. My approach is collaborative, flexible, and grounded in creating safety and trust.
I provide Autism assessments for adults (18 years and over) at our Alphington clinic or via Telehealth. I take a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed approach, with a particular focus on collaborating with women and trans and gender diverse individuals exploring their neurotypes. The assessment and feedback process includes approximately 4-5 hours of appointments, online questionnaires, feedback sessions, and a written report, using the neuroaffirming MIGDAS-2 diagnostic interview.
I work from a systemic understanding and social justice perspective, drawing on an intersectional, affirming, and trauma-informed framework. My aim is to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all identities, neurotypes, genders, and bodies.
Important: Jess does not conduct ADHD assessments but can make recommendations for further assessment as required. Jess’ autism assessment reports are for diagnostic identification only (i.e.., answers the question ‘Am I autistic?’) and are not suitable for NDIS applications.
Please note that Jess does not do family court reports.
Jess consults from our Alphington clinic.
Jess has a particular interest and experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, including supporting individuals exploring gender diversity and gender transition, as well as working with families of trans and gender diverse children and adolescents.
